slow september

What a month. September is ending on a good note. I think I’m happy. I have to admit that my life is better now than it has ever been, and I really shouldn’t be sad.

My birthday was good…

A week after my birthday, I decided to go to a spa that had been recommended to me by a girl from France whom I had dinner with at a restaurant on the beach.

Rituals Spa. I really loved it. I was greeted by five girls with their hands folded in prayer. They were so kind and gentle.

First, they gave me a rice scrub with ylang-ylang and orange. Then I had a beautiful massage, also with ylang-ylang. They make these products themselves. I smelled absolutely amazing. And the best part was that I didn’t even feel dizzy after the massage. It was genuinely a really good massage.

I also had a facial: a deep cleanse with a massage and masks.

So basically, total bliss and beauty. My skin feels so smooth.

At first, I went to this spa just to buy Davines products because I had seen their ad on Instagram and thought it was one of the few places on the island that carried the brand. I got excited and went there, and then I accidentally ended up booking a massage because they recommended it to me.

My husband really didn’t like that because the prices there are above average, but I told him I would pay for my own little luxuries.

You had to pay 50% upfront and the other half after the treatments. I paid the first half and was ready to pay the rest, but after reading some reviews about the spa and calming down, my husband generously offered to pay the second half for me.

I was happy, because I got to stock up on cosmetics without feeling guilty about spending my money.

I really love the Davines Heart of Glass mask. Last autumn, I ordered the Heart of Glass line for the first time. It’s for both coloured and natural blondes, and it worked really well for me! But I hadn’t tried the mask back then.

The heat protectant lasted me exactly one year of regular use, which is really good. So this time I replaced the heat protectant and got the mask.

I’m obsessed with the mask. I hadn’t used a hair mask for about a month, and the whole time I kept thinking, damn, I really need a hair mask. And finally, the moment came.

I left it on for half an hour, even though five minutes is actually enough, and my hair became so incredibly soft. Literally a lifesaver.

The downside is that Davines is so popular that sometimes I get a little sad when I see girls online using the exact same products and discovering the same things I’ve discovered. And I think, well, here I am, just like everyone else.

But I think that’s mostly an illusion created by the internet. It makes it feel like there are huge numbers of identical people all around you. But whatever.

Last time I wrote that we were going to go on a boat trip. That was also really fun! So much positivity, and they fed us local food: chicken with prawns and freshly caught squid.

The locals make really delicious chicken.

And most importantly, I took some amazing beach photos.

As for working out, my ass is basically in constant pain now, haha, because I’ve been exercising pretty often.

My husband and I also went to a stretching class together, which I really enjoyed, and we went to yoga together too. Yoga is definitely hard.

But I can’t seem to lose weight. My weight literally doesn’t change. I just eat well, so I need to slow down a little.

It’s hard to say no to food when my father-in-law cooks so well.

I watched The Gentlemen. At first, damn, I really didn’t want to watch it because I’m supposed to be a “not like other girls” girl… But I watched it, and honestly, I think it’s pretty good. Beautiful actors, beautiful colours, great clothes. The vibe is cool.

Right now I’m watching American Horror Story, season 12, and I’ve also watched the first three episodes of season 13, which is currently airing.

I didn’t like season 13, but I’m really enjoying season 12! With Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian.

And one more cool thing: I found these nail tips on Instagram that are made from natural stones and shaped specifically to fit the nails. Now I want them, but damn, I don’t want to ruin my nails with glue, so maybe I need to talk myself out of wanting them.
